The sky’s the limit for Callcredit fundraisers

Sky diveTHE sky was the limit for staff at Leeds headquartered Callcredit Information Group when they jumped out of a plane for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The team of eight colleagues raised more than £5,000 for the charity by taking part in a tandem skydive at Skydive Hibaldstow on Saturday, August 6. The challenge included a 120mph freefall from 15,000ft before parachuting to the ground.

Claire Johnson, Engagement Manager at Callcredit said “We are thrilled with the performance of the team. It is a fantastic achievement and we are delighted that through each individual’s fundraising efforts they have been able to raise a staggering amount for our nominated charity. As a business we are committed to contributing positively to our local community and this is a great example of how passionate our employees are in helping to improve cancer outcomes in our region.”

The Callcredit team is now preparing for its next challenge, a 200 mile bike ride in Mallorca from October 6-9. 22 members of staff will cycle through the East of the Tramuntana mountain range, climbing 2,700m over the two day ride.

Stephanie Jones, Regional Fundraiser for West Yorkshire at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “The Callcredit team has really gone above and beyond in its fundraising for Yorkshire Cancer Research. We’re delighted that so many were brave enough to sign up for the skydive and experience something completely new to help improve cancer outcomes in Yorkshire.

“We’d like to wish all the team members taking part in the bike ride the best of luck in their Mallorca challenge. This gruelling ride will really put them through their paces and we hope everyone will continue to support them.”

Callcredit, which is the UK’s second largest credit reference agency in the UK and specialises in managing consumer data, has supported many local and national charities over the years. The money raised through the partnership will be used to improve cancer outcomes in Yorkshire by raising awareness of cancer and how to prevent it, promoting screening programmes to increase early diagnosis and funding innovative research projects from diagnosis to end-of-life care.
