Mouchel joins forces with Coactiva to protect vital front-line council services at Middlesbrough Borough Council

Local government expert Coactiva, part of the Callcredit Information Group, has forged a partnership with International Infrastructure and Business Services Group Mouchel to recover historic council tax debts on behalf of Middlesbrough BC.

Mouchel will use Coactiva’s ThreeSixty Online system to trace ‘aged’ council tax debtors, understand ability to pay and identify the most effective course of debt recovery action as part of Mouchel’s ‘Service Middlesbrough’ division at Middlesbrough BC.  Middlesbrough BC will be able to use the additional funds to protect vital front-line services such as education, social care and refuse collection.

Initial findings suggest that Mouchel, who also operate Revenues & Benefits units on behalf of Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council and Bournemouth Borough Council, will recover in excess of £100,000 before the end of the financial year using Coactiva intelligence.

Alison Roberts, New Business Manager at Mouchel said: “Mouchel is always keen to identify new ways for our local government clients to reduce costs and generate additional revenue.

“ThreeSixty required no staff training or IT involvement. The team was able to get started in minutes by simply logging-in to a secure web-page.”

Andrew Davis, Director of Public Sector, Coactiva said: “Many local authorities benefit greatly from working directly with Coactiva but an increasing number of private sector organisations working on behalf of councils now also use Coactiva’s tools to great effect.

“We are delighted that Mouchel and Middlesbrough BC have joined a long-list of authorities in the north of England who use Coactiva’s software 52-weeks of the year to help generate valuable funds.”
