Lawnet chooses Callcredit as preferred supplier

LawNet, the leading UK network of law firms, has awarded Callcredit preferred supplier status for the supply of Callcredit's award-winning anti-money laundering solution, CallML, after a six month review period.

Comprising 62 independent law firms across the UK and Ireland, LawNet's key objective was to select a market-leading product that would be suitable for all group members and their respective risk management procedures.

"LawNet is pleased to offer its members the ability to quickly identify their clients in accordance with anti-money laundering regulations, as part of a member firm's overall risk management procedures" says Helen Simpson, Director of Member Services at LawNet. "Access to the CallML service complements LawNet's existing comprehensive AML training, helpline and guidance".

"We are delighted that LawNet has chosen to award us preferred supplier status," says Graham Lund, Deputy Managing Director of Callcredit. "We hope that this is just the beginning of our association and we would like to explore further opportunities with LawNet in the future."

CallML is already used by thousands of businesses across the UK, including more than 800 FSA regulated businesses. It was recently selected by Britannia Building Society as its product of choice and has already been named 'Online Product of the Year' at the 2007 Legal Technology Awards.

Specifically developed to help regulated businesses satisfy the ID verification requirements of the latest anti-money laundering regulations, CallML fully addresses the recently revised guidelines produced by the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG), which came into force in September 2006.

CallML confirms identities in seconds, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using a range of positive and negative information sources. It conforms to the key requirements of the JMLSG guidelines, with reports informing users of the checks undertaken and subsequent results as well as providing a clear Pass or Refer decision.
