Home Retail Group to use DecisionMetrics’ multi-bureau decisioning solution

Leading provider of multi-bureau analytics and decision technology, DecisionMetrics (part of Callcredit Information Group), has today (11th November 2013) announced that the Home Retail Group, the UK's leading home and general merchandise company has signed agreements to deploy its full multi-bureau decisioning solution - DecisionStrategy.

DecisionStrategy will be used by the retailer's financial services division to process new credit applications for both its Argos and Homebase brands.

The solution will seamlessly integrate into all of the retailer's sales channels and back office systems, allowing it to undertake credit searches from more than one credit bureau, de-duplicate the results and consolidate them into one single credit report.  DecisionStrategy will then use its sophisticated scoring capabilities to assess the application against bespoke applicant characteristics and scorecards.  The resultant increase in both applicant match rates and data volume enables more robust credit decisions and an increase in acceptance rates, together with reduced levels of credit risk and over-indebtedness.

Gary Scott, Managing Director of DecisionMetrics commented, "We are delighted to be able to deliver this fundamental project for Home Retail Group, which was won against tough competition. Our multi-bureau decisioning software is unique in the marketplace and will provide Home Retail Group with the ability to grow their credit business in a prudent way and provides a far more flexible environment to adapt to future changes".

David Twigg, General Manager Home Retail Group said "The project is part of our significant investment in further enhancing our digital capabilities. This system will give us true 24/7 decisioning and allow us to draw data from any combination of the three major credit bureaux thereby providing many advantages in terms of increased capability to verify prospective customers, improved credit decisions, ability to construct a more comprehensive picture of an individual's future payment performance and the assessment of overall level of affordability."
