Callcredit charity trekking total tops £12,600

Following their epic Oxfam Trailtrekker challenge, Callcredit Information Group employees and clients have reached an amazing fundraising total of £12,673.50.

28 took on the gruelling 30-hour, 100km trek across the Yorkshire Dales in June on behalf of Callcredit, tackling gale force winds, rain, darkness and exhaustion to raise as much money as possible for Oxfam. Despite injuries and fatigue all walkers covered a huge distance with eight achieving the amazing feat of reaching the finish line in the 30-hour target time.

The £12,673 raised by Callcredit will be added to the money raised by other Trailtrekker teams and will support Oxfam's work in relieving poverty and suffering in the UK and around the world.

Tom Holloway, Events Marketing Manager from Oxfam said: "Callcredit have done incredibly well at Trailtrekker this year both in terms of their dedication to their training and to their fundraising. It's great to see organisations enter large teams and really embrace the challenge, what's more they've raised more funds than any other organisation involved which is a huge achievement.  Sponsorship raised from Trailtrekker this year is already in use as part of Oxfam's response to the current crisis in East Africa. I'd like to thank them very much on behalf of everyone at Oxfam."

Mike Davies, Business Development Director at Callcredit said: "It's an honour to have been able to raise such a fantastic amount of money for Oxfam. The event itself was extremely challenging and we were all very proud just to have taken part, but the final total we've raised makes it even more rewarding. We've learned a lot from Oxfam about the type of worthwhile projects that our money will help to support so we're extremely grateful to everyone who has supported us and contributed to this amazing total."
