Callcredit announces Yorkshire Cancer Research as charity of the year
Callcredit Information Group has announced Yorkshire Cancer Research as its Charity of the Year.
The decision was made following a UK-wide vote by employees based at the company’s offices throughout the country. As well as raising money through office-based activities, employees will take part in a variety of activities including the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a 15,000ft skydive and a summer event.
Callcredit, which is the UK’s second largest credit reference agency in the UK and specialises in managing consumer data, has supported many local and national charities over the years. The money raised through the partnership will be used to improve cancer outcomes in Yorkshire by raising awareness of cancer and how to prevent it, promoting screening programmes to increase early diagnosis and funding innovative research projects from diagnosis to end-of-life care.
Yorkshire has the third highest incidence rate in England and 11 of 13 local authorities have outcomes below the national average.
