Callcredit Acquires TenantID

Callcredit Information Group has today announced that it has acquired TenantID, UK & Ireland's unique database that stores tenant letting histories, an acquisition that will see both Callcredit and TenantID work together to reach a critical mass of tenant held data.

TenantID is a national database, which already consists of millions of private tenants across the UK & Irish market. The database has been created to provide those in the lettings industry with vital information about the history of prospective tenants and designed to protect the nation's landlords, local authorities and letting agents.

TenantID database is run for members of a nationwide network of letting agents, landlords and local authorities. Each member uploads information about their tenants and that information subsequently becomes available to other members on request. If a tenant has not paid rent, damaged a property, misused the property or simply vanished owing money to the landlord, that information is stored using a simple tick system which collects factual information.

Callcredit and TenantID's ultimate goal is to maximise the number of tenants we can get on to the database, making their system universally viable across the market. This exciting opportunity will ensure that TenantID continues to evolve into the most effective and professional system that stores a tenant's letting history.

Graham Lund, Managing Director, Callcredit commented, "The purchase of TenantID clearly shows our strong commitment to investing in the future growth of Callcredit, and how important we see the rental market now and in the future. The addition of the TenantID database will undoubtedly help to enhance the level of insight we are able to deliver and at the same time complement the existing products and services offered by Callcredit such as credit risk, affordability and fraud and verification solutions".

Lorna Rose, Director of TenantID said: "Joining forces with Callcredit will undoubtedly give us investment to achieve our goal of reaching critical mass, and offering compelling services to every single landlord and agency across the UK & other markets". With 1000's of members already on board and using our system, TenantID has already proven to the lettings industry that this kind of data is vital when taking on a new tenant. TenantID offers landlords and agencies the ability to identify the good from the bad and will help to reduce the risks of taking on a tenant who could default on their rent, damage a property or breach their tenancy agreement".
