TransUnion Raises Over £18,000 for Save the Children and Strengthens Commitment to Colleague Volunteering Scheme

TransUnion, a global information and insights company and one of the UK’s leading credit reference agencies, has been proudly supporting Save the Children, raising over £18,000 for the charity thanks to a range of fundraising activities over the past two years.

This comes as TransUnion strengthens its ongoing commitment to supporting charities and local communities by extending paid volunteering time for colleagues, encouraging them to take three days per year to volunteer at local charities.

Helping to raise much-needed funds for Save the Children’s work in the UK, TransUnion colleagues took part in a ‘Step it Up’ challenge, where over a five-week period, participating members walked a combined distance of 14,513.4km. Premier League football team Leeds United team, sponsored by TransUnion, also contributed to the total distance with the ground covered in their home match against West Ham in September.

Colleagues also raised money with donations for taking part in Christmas Jumper Day, as well as donating in lieu of cards and celebrations during the festive season.

“Here at TransUnion, we’re passionate about supporting the local community with our GoodWorks programme and our partnership with Save the Children has been a great example of that,” said Tammy Taylor-Stowe, chief human resources officer at TransUnion in the UK. “We’re really proud of what we’ve been able to achieve, thanks to the support of our colleagues, to help provide funds for this pivotal work that helps children get the opportunities they deserve.

“This fundraising forms part of our wider community initiative which has continued, despite the challenges of the pandemic, and included donating laptops to local schools in need. We’re excited that going into 2022 we will be able to achieve even more by offering our colleagues two additional paid volunteering days, to enable them to make a personal contribution to a project of their choice.”

Tammy Hoskins, community fundraising manager at Save the Children said: “At Save the Children we rely on support from our partners and are delighted with what we’ve achieved in partnership with TransUnion. This contribution is gratefully received and will help us in our work together with families, supporters and partners, to help every child become who they want to be.”
