TransUnion Celebrates Completion of Challenge90 with Colleague Wellbeing Festival

TransUnion, a global information and insights company, marked the completion of its Challenge90 fundraising with Leeds United for Yorkshire Cancer Research by hosting an event for colleagues at Elland Road.

Named ‘WellFest’, the full day event saw over 600 of TransUnion’s UK colleagues take a day away from keyboards and meetings to focus on wellbeing. For many the highlight was a chance to play football on the hallowed pitch of the Premier League football club, whilst others enjoyed yoga sessions and boxing classes.

The celebration marked the end of Challenge90, with the target of 100,000 minutes of exercise before the end of the football season far exceeded, and £4,000 raised on the day for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

“At TransUnion, we believe in creating moments that matter for our colleagues, and WellFest was a fantastic example of our commitment to supporting both physical and mental wellbeing,” said Tammy Taylor-Stowe, chief human resources officer for TransUnion in the UK. “We recognise the added pressures that have been created by the pandemic over recent years and have evolved our ways of working in line with what colleagues want and need with our FlexTogether approach. It was wonderful to bring our colleagues together in celebration of a fantastic cause, raising funds that can help change lives.”

With its UK headquarters in Leeds, TransUnion has recently been nominated as Best Company to Work For in leading industry awards, thanks to the many initiatives in place to support its staff. The full extent of its colleague offering was on display at WellFest, including its many colleague forums, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting diversity.

Dr Kathryn Scott, chief executive at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “We’re really grateful for TransUnion’s support, in partnership with Leeds United, to help us exceed our targets and raise much-needed funds for essential research. Regular exercise is really important in preventing cancer so WellFest at Elland Road was a fitting way for TransUnion to complete the challenge.”
