Leeds-based credit reference agency Callcredit has developed a new more powerful and flexible version of its online identity verification solution CallML.

First launched last year, CallML uses a wide range of approved and independent data sources, including the Electoral Roll and a full credit database to confirm identities in seconds - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Recognised by the FSA, it has proved highly successful in helping companies satisfy the 'Know Your Customer' requirements of anti-money laundering legislation. It is already used by some of the biggest names in financial services, plus a growing number of lawyers, accountants and stockbrokers.

Now, Callcredit has increased the power of CallML with a host of new data matching options.

To combat the growing problem of deceased identity fraud, CallML users will be able to specify checks against the REaD Group's Bereavement Register and Millennium plc's Halo database, in addition to Callcredit's existing deceased data sources.

New standard features of CallML will include date of birth matching and validation of driving licence and national insurance numbers.

As an added anti-fraud measure all users will also be able to specify optional GeoFraud reports, which predict the likelihood of individuals committing fraud based on the postcode area they live in. GeoFraud uses a sophisticated blend of geodemographic, lifestyle, credit and actual fraud data to produce a fraud risk score from 0-99 for every postcode in Great Britain.

Members of CIFAS, the UK's fraud prevention service, will have access to CIFAS filings within their CallML reports.
