I wish it could be Christmas everyday – it is in Yorkshire!

Yorkshire has been revealed as the UK's Christmas-iest county in new research from marketing data and intelligence experts EuroDirect

EuroDirect has discovered that Yorkshire boasts the most festive street names in the UK, beating stiff competition in the Christmas stakes from Lancashire, Suffolk and Hampshire. Yorkshire has a total of 24 Christmas street names and just some of the county's residents that are feeling festive all year round are the households of Robin Drive in Bradford and Turkey Hill in Pudsey.

The festivities reach across the UK and include the 236 households living in 'Yule'; 92 households living in three Rudolf Roads; and 15 households living on Sproutes Lane in Sussex. Less common but still enjoying the Christmas season all year round are Advent Court in Lincolnshire, Nativity Close in Kent, and Present Lane in Loughborough. Conversely the south of England has a monopoly on 'North Pole' streets with North Pole Lanes in both Kent and Herefordshire, and two North Pole Roads in Kent and London.

The research found that with 594 festive streets throughout the UK, 'Robin' is the most common Christmas-themed street name. The 56 streets named Robin Close alone are home to 849 households throughout the UK. The next most popular festive street name is Holly with 97 streets, from Holly Close in Bexhill-On-Sea, Sussex to Holly Crescent in Dundee. There are also 12 streets nationwide where everyday is Christmas, from Christmas Close in Dorset to Christmas Street in Liverpool there are a total of 359 households living in 'Christmas'.

John Dobson, Managing Director of EuroDirect said:
"For most of us, Christmas comes but once a year - it's nice to see some can share the festive spirit with their families all year round! The Christmas season is a time for family and happy memories, it's only natural for people to want to enjoy this throughout the year and live somewhere which makes them feel merry."

The research was undertaken using EuroDirect's Data Exchange database, the largest UK shared prospect pool. Data Exchange combines contributions from a wide range of data partners and client contributors to provide access to the UK consumer mass market - approximately 41.5 million records and is available for direct marketing activity. Data Exchange includes data from the latest Edited Electoral Roll and Companies House as well as Lifestyle, Transactional and Financial information.
