Callcredit Shortlisted for National Business Award

Callcredit Information Group has today been announced as a finalist for The Orange Innovation Award, as part of this year's National Business Awards in partnership with Orange, for their Affordability Suite.

Callcredit faced tough competition, with the total number of organisations entering the National Business Awards in 2010 increasing by over 40 percent compared to last year, despite the challenging market conditions. The leeds-based company must now make a presentation to the expert judging panel in the coming months, before finding out at the ceremony on November 9th if they have won the award.

The Affordability Suite, that Callcredit entered for the award, compares a person's income with their current debt levels to assess whether they can afford more credit, whilst traditional credit risk tools only look at past payment history. This helps banks to ensure that they are making responsible lending decisions.

Graham Lund, Managing Director of Callcredit said: "We pride ourselves on being able to offer innovative products and services, so we're delighted to be shortlisted for the highly competitive and respected Orange Innovation Award. The Affordability Suite is a completely unique product and being shortlisted for this award is a real testament to Callcredit's leading edge approach."

Commenting on the encouraging figures and the calibre of entries, Philip Forrest, Chairman of Judges, the National Business Awards, said: "The economic climate continues to present UK businesses with an unprecedented challenge and it is therefore encouraging that the entries in this year's National Business Awards have shown no drop in quality or performance. Congratulations to all finalists for demonstrating great strength in the ability to adapt and innovate quickly which no doubt reflects the resilience and optimism that are the hallmarks of UK enterprise."

"Orange has sponsored the National Business Awards for the past nine years and I am delighted that the calibre of entrants keeps on improving," said Martin Stiven, Vice President, Orange UK. "It's been a tough couple of years for business but the UK's organisations have not let this stop them from delivering success.  I'd like to congratulate all the finalists for being a real inspiration for what is possible in business."
