11 graduates launch their software engineering careers at Callcredit Information Group

Graduates

Callcredit Information Group, a fast-growing fintech specialist, has hired 11 graduates, seven from Yorkshire based universities, onto the company’s new, software engineering graduate scheme.

As one of the largest UK tech hub outside London, there is a huge demand in Leeds for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) skills and more and more digital and technology firms are locating to the area. Headquartered in Leeds, Callcredit launched the graduate scheme to help fill the skills gap in STEM in the region and invest in developing future talent.

The 11 graduates, nine new starters and two current Callcredit employees, will undertake a bespoke three month technical and professional training programme followed by 12 to 18 months structured coaching and career development support.  Working in partnership with QA, a UK training provider, the graduates will be exposed to a range of experiences and provided with the skills needed for a well-grounded career in software development.

Mike Gordon, CEO, Callcredit Information Group said: “As a business we appreciate the necessity of ‘growing our own’ as the demand for technical skills increases.  We are committed to recruiting people at the start of their career and we offer first class development and ongoing support to allow them to flourish.” Julie Wright, HR Director, Callcredit Information Group said: “We have almost 1,200 professionals working across international markets with offices in the UK, Japan, China, Dubai and Lithuania. This programme will be a great opportunity for the graduates to get their first step on the career ladder.”
